Medicine Man is our 2018 WPX $11,000 Reserve Berkshire Boar purchase from Knauth Showpigs! When he hit the ring at Expo, we were immediately drawn to his flawless skeletal build and design coupled with the type of power and mass it takes to win on the big stages. He is elevated at the point of his shoulder and extended through his front 1/3, while maintaining stoutness of skull and a masculine jawline. He exhibits a perfect hip and hind leg with an awesome curvature to his forearm and foot that allows him to glide effortlessly with extreme range of motion! This is a Berkshire boar built to solve lots of issues, while still adding the extras it takes to win big!!
Medicine Man is sired by the highly successful Injured Reserve and his mother is the Mauck gilt that was the 2016 STC Open Show Champion Berkshire Gilt that Knauth purchased. This sow appears to be a true foundation female for their program and when boars have mothers of the caliber of Medicine Man’s, it makes us even more excited and confident in his generating ability for what he can accomplish for the breed!
